Dr Mlilo holds a B Th (Honours) from the Urban University in Rome, a Licentiate (Masters) in Biblical Theology from the Gregorian University, also in Rome, and a doctorate from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He worked as an academic for more than fifteen years in private philosophical and theological higher education institutions in Zambia and South Africa as lecturer, head of department, academic dean and in senior management positions in both countries. Dr Mlilo has a particular passion for, and commitment to quality assurance and quality promotion in African higher education (nationally, regionally and continentally), in the pursuit of which he has been engaged in programme design, institutional and programme audits, and has initiated various quality assurance bodies, policies and procedures at institutional and regional levels. On the broader continental level, Dr Mlilo has participated in, and written articles for a series of conferences and workshops of African academics. This resulted in his co-editing a bi-lingual book in English and French: Doing Theology and Philosophy in the African Context/Faire la theologie et la philosophie en contexte africain.
Dr Mlilo is Senior Manager in the office of the Executive Director: Quality Assurance, and he brings high level academic and administrative experience to the Council on Higher Education (CHE). |
