Ms Pam du Toit has been with the Council on Higher Education (CHE) since 2000, starting when the organisation had just seven staff members which meant that the work was very varied. She worked in the office of Dr Mala Singh, when Dr Singh was Executive Director of the HEQC and Interim Chief Executive Officer of the CHE.
For some months, Pam was the Project Administrator for the Quality Systems Restructuring Project, and is currently Project Administrator in the office of the Executive Director: HEQC.
Prior to joining the CHE, Pam worked in the Centre for Science Development at the Human Sciences Research Council which merged with then Foundation for Research and Development to become the National Research Foundation.
Before then, she worked at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) where she was responsible for administrative tasks as well as carrying out some research in the Psycho-linguistic division; she then moved on to the division which was researching place names. Also at the HSRC, she spent some years working with programmers, artists, publishers and customers on a computerised reading programme for English-speaking students, and was in the office of Dr Mala Singh.
Pam's career started at the SA Co-operative Citrus Exchange where she worked for ten years, spending most of this time in the marketing, advertising and public relations department. |
