Mr Tebogo Kekana joined the CHE in April 2009 and is currently working as a researcher in the Monitoring and Advice directorate.
Mr Kekana has an MA in Applied Linguistics from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in the Netherlands. He also holds a BA degree (majoring in English and Education) and a BA Honours in English, specialising in language from the University of Limpopo. He is also pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGCE). Over the years, Mr Kekana has worked as a research assistant and a tutor in both English and Contemporary English Language studies and Multilingualism departments at the University of Limpopo. He taught undergraduate courses at the University of Limpopo. He joined Language Research and Development Centre (LRDC) in 2005 where he was appointed as a Coordinator in Terminology Development and Language Enhancement section. Before joining the CHE, he was a Principal Language Practitioner at the Department of Arts and Culture in the directorate National Language Service. In addition, Mr Kekana is also a freelance translator who translates from English to Sepedi in his spare time. During his research career, he has published mainly in the area of Language and Linguistics studies.
His academic interests include among other things Research on Multilingualism, analysis of patterns and trends in the development of language policies, Needs analysis studies, research on Language Policy development and implementation and lastly, he likes to research on Language in education policies. |
