Introduction
The South African Council on Higher Education (CHE) is an independent statutory body established by the Higher Education Act, 101 of 1997. The CHE as the Quality Council for Higher Education advises the Minister of Higher Education and Training on all higher education issues and is responsible for quality assurance and promotion through the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC).

Background
The CHE invites all suppliers to register on their database. The purpose of this database is to give all prospective suppliers an equal opportunity to submit quotations to the CHE.

Evaluation criteria
The following documentation must be submitted together with the database form:
  • An Original Tax Clearance Certificate, valid at the date of submission of the bid, or exemption to pay taxes as issued by the South African Revenue Services.
  • Proof of registration of an entity, CK1 and/or CK 2 and/or CM23;
  • In the event the company is tendering as a Joint Venture, all members of the JV must submit all the required documentation.
Failure to submit this documentation may lead to disqualification

Closing date
Registration forms may be collected from 2 April 2012 and completed forms must be submitted before 11:00 on the 30 April 2012 at the CHE office, 1 Quintin Brand Street, Persequor Technopark, Pretoria. There is no cost for registration forms.
