February, 2005

Since the release of the results of the national MBA review in May 2004, the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) of the Council of Higher Education accredited more MBA programmes of higher education institutions that were granted conditional accreditation status. These higher education institutions were requested to provide the HEQC with improvement plans indicating how they had met their conditions of accreditation.

Peer review panels were then appointed and have completed site visits to three institutions that were initially granted conditional accreditation and subsequently submitted improvement plans.

Taking into account the improvement plans and the reports of the panels, the HEQC Board has granted full-accreditation to the following MBA programmes:

  • North West University (Mafikeng Campus) - MBA
  • Henley Management College (Sunninghill Campus) - MBA
  • Milpark Business School (Milpark Campus) - MBA

This increases the number of fully accredited MBA programmes from 14 to 17, at 15 higher education institutions.

The HEQC has received improvement plans from the remaining three institutions, which also received conditional accreditation for their MBA programmes. Site visits will be scheduled depending on the institutions' level of compliance with their conditions of accreditation.

Attached is the list of fully accredited and conditionally accredited MBA programmes.
